You've selected your goal-setting platform. Maybe it's Hoshin, the 12 Week Year, SMART goals, or 10X. Regardless, stop yourself wherever you are in the actual building of the plan and ask these three questions:
- What do I want?
- What am I committed to?
- What am I afraid of that is keeping me from what I want and what I am committed to?
If you set a goal around something you don't want, you will hate working towards it, no matter how committed you are. If you set a goal around something you want but are not committed to, the moment things get hard you will give up. And when fear is allowed, our vision gets cloudy. We forget why we started what we started in the first place.
